The Samsung C300 is a compact mobile phone which comes with good quality features for today's mobile phone user to enjoy. I purchased the Samsung J700i from Amazon because it was recommended by loads of people who said " if you are going to turn the page and get rid of all your old ""BRICKS"" then buy this fone coz it does almost everything you want at a bargain price " and they were not wrong! It's a well priced device that does everyday tasks and does them easily due to the very well set out menu steps.

The battery seems to last forever, on average, I can get between 7 and 10 days on a full charge, depending on usage of course, but overall, I am delighted with the performance of the J700i and would recommend it if anyone were to ask me what fone to buy as an everyday budget price device.

I am still coming to terms with all the 'bits' it can do to be honest! - I use the basic stuff like texting and just calling people although I know its capable of doing so, so much more but I wanted a reliable mobile phone and not a fashion item like some demented folk seek and this does it for me quite well - the only let down is me to be fair as I don't think I am that far advanced to cope with all the features but I'm getting there! (no doubt a four year old would look at it and master in about five minutes, but when you are in the age bracket that can remember Cliffie Richard, when he used to sing, it take a bit longer! - sorry, Samsung)...)

Great little phone with so nice features. Looks very sleak and stylish, nice camera. Overall very good simple phone for a very good price. I would recommend buying a seperate micro sd card as the memory is very limited, cheap to buy on amazon.

This is the second J700 I have bought for my wife (she accidentally put the first one in the washing machine!). There have been no problems or issues with either phone. It is easy to use, reliable, and the battery life is good. An included feature we both regard as very important is the option to have the text alert repeat every 2 minutes until the message is opened. (This feature has, until recently, included as standard on most Samsungs, but missing from many newer models such as the Tocco Lite). If you are happy with average camera quality then buy this phone. If you need a better camera, go for the G600.

However I am a SonyEricsson fan myself when it comes to mobile phones. There is nothing about the Samsung phones that would make me want to exchange my SonyEricsson for a Samsung.

I brought this phone as my contract phone broke before I could upgrade, thus I am using it as my main phone.

It clearly lacks the bells and whistles of modern phones lacking even picture messaging, however for someone who mainly texts and calls people it fulfils it's job perfectly.



The phone holds up to 100 message's and it is easy to create new ones/delete the old ones.

Call quality is great and battery time is fantastic after putting up with the few hours of talktime with a more 'functional' phone which one would normally charge constantly this phone I use constantly and charge every couple of days.



My favourite feature is the 'auto-complete' when typing in phone numbers it looks for recent calls and through your phone book to find numbers that match what you are typing so that if there is a similar one you can press the down arrow to choose it or simply carry on entering the number uninterrupted.

There is a memo feature to write small notes, however the calendar does not allow you to plan dates in advance, nor does the alarm which is limited to a time rather than a date.

Keylock and silent mode are easily accessable through long presses of the star and hash keys. Buttons are easy to press.



Other features include: a sudoku game, a torch (lights the screen up),calculator,converter,timer, stopwatch and start up password.



Drawbacks:

No ability to save contact details other than name or number

No calender/appointment ability other than to view days.

Phone is small and compact which is nice but feels a little too small in my big hands (but then I'm used to big phones)

Less features as other more expensive phones (mms,internet,mp3 playback,radio,organiser etc)



Summary: A Great phone as a backup or emergency phone, easily copes as being a main phone but you may miss features found on more expensive phones. Is small and feels solid.

Drawbacks wouldn't really affect phone choice other than lack of features that you may need.

At least five keypresses are needed to read an incoming text. The instructions are terse: just one sheet of paper. To get the £10 credit I had to get back to the supplier for a voucher, and then make a long convoluted phone call to someone who was very polite but whose thick accent was barely intelligible. Charging is quick but the charger plug has to be pushed in very hard and wiggled around to get it to start charging. On the plus side it is light and sturdy and holds its charge well.

The phone itself is quite a good buy but do not buy the airtime as after weeks of hassle I was unable to redeem it from Orange or anywhere else, So in the end it cost me in telephone calls and raw nerves.

However Amazon refunded my £10 after my insistance,but I assume not everyone is as tenatious as I am so many have probably lost this money, especially if they received it as a gift.

This is one if the phones i have, it a slide phone at its basic with no extras, it has no camera, limited memory for extras, no music player, its a mobile for people whole want to make calls ans send/receive SMS messages only, however the buttons are clearley marked, and the phone is pretty sturdy, mines been droped and thrown many times, and still it works perfectley and has no damage on the casing, this is a good phone if you want to make calls/sms only, and would be suitable for people who want an easy to navigate phone, or for younger children as it will accept a beating, I've only given it 3 stars as the phone can be slow to startup, but as i said, it is a sturdy phone.
